North Carolina -1.5

North Carolina is looking to amend a loss in the national title game last year. Gonzaga is in unchartered waters, but also expects to be in this position. The two face off for the national championship in Glendale, Arizona on Monday night in what expects to be a solid game. Carolina, a blue blood, has five titles to its name and 20 Final Four appearances. The Zags are playing in their first Final Four and Mark Few has finally gotten his program to the pinnacle of the sport.
The Tar Heels lead the country in offensive rebounding and overall rebounding margin. They spend all kinds of time cleaning the glass, led by Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks. Having Justin Jackson lead the team in scoring as well as being able to mix it up inside gives the Tar Heels a bit of an advantage as they have the edge on athleticism and talent.
But Gonzaga certainly won’t be backing down. Johnathan Williams, Zach Collins and Przemek Karnowski are all quality players on the interior and Nigel Williams-Goss is a big-play threat that can come up huge in a game like this.
Both teams survived close contests in the semifinals. As No. 1 seeds they should be in this position and expect this one to be a great contest. Carolina has the edge because of experience.
