Game 4 of the NLDS takes place tonight when the Atlanta Braves look to hold off elimination against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game is scheduled for a 9:37 p.m. (EST) start time and it will be televised nationally on TBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Dodgers favored to close this one out.

Los Angeles has a commanding lead here, especially with being at home tonight. A victory will put them in the National League Championship Series against either Pittsburgh or St. Louis. Lots of "ifs" going on in the post season right now.

Getting the ball for the Braves tonight will be journeyman Freddy Garcia. This will be his 11th career post season start. Garcia pitched well since coming over from Baltimore in August, posting a 1.65 ERA in six appearances for the Braves. Current Dodgers hitters have a .227 average against Garcia in 163 plate appearances. He could have a solid game tonight if he's able to stay ahead in counts.

The Dodgers blasted out 14 hits and scored 13 runs last night. LA is hoping they didn't use up all their offensive outbursts last night. Paul Maholm was left off the Atlanta Braves postseason roster in favor of Garcia. The Braves are planning on Garcia being able to keep the ball down against the Dodgers, who will be looking to get guys on base and keep them in motion.

Getting the ball for Los Angeles tonight will be Ricky Nolasco, who began the year with the Miami Marlins. Since joining the Dodgers he went 8-3. Current Braves own a .297 average against him in 202 at bats. Braves catcher Brian McCann absolutely owns Nolasco with 20 hits in 58 plate appearances and eight home runs. Jason Heyward had eight hits in 23 at bats (.348) as well.

In his split time this season with Miami and LA, Nolasco went just 7-7. But he did win his only start against the Braves this season, tossing seven innings and striking out seven while getting the win.

There should be some runs scored here. The Braves are facing elimination and need to attack Nolasco early in the count in order to get pitches to hit. Look for the Braves to get six solid innings out of Garcia, who will keep them in the game. Atlanta gets this one done on the road to force a Game 5.
