The National League Division Series begin tonight with Game 1 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. Tonight's game is scheduled for an 8:37 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TBS. The odds for the game currently have the Dodgers as a road favorite to win.

It's going to be a tough going for both teams in this series. The Braves have a lot of power on the left side of the plate, but will have to face Clayton Kershaw in the opening game tonight.

The Braves will counter with Kris Medlen, who won 15 games this season. He started twice against the Dodgers this season and finished with a 1-0 record, allowing just one run over 13 2/3 innings. Current hitters own a .217 lifetime average against Medlen in 92 plate appearances.

Kershaw is an absolute monster. He won 16 games this season and won the ERA title with just a 1.83 mark. Had the Dodgers not struggled so much during many of his starts during the regular season he easily could have won 20+ games. He didn't throw once against the Braves this season but has limited current Atlanta hitters to a .146 average in 82 plate appearances.

Atlanta won a National League East best 96 games this season and were just dominant at home this season, winning 56 of their 81 games at Turner Field. The 56 wins at home this season were the best of any team in the Majors.

The Braves held a 5-2 series advantage this season over the Dodgers.

Los Angeles last won a World Series title in 1988, but many think they are the team to beat this season. The Braves haven't won a title since 1995, either.

Dan Uggla and Paul Maholm were left off the division roster for Atlanta. Andre Ethier is still up in the air to make the Dodgers' roster, but if he is on it, will probably be limited in his playing time. Matt Kemp has been shut down for the entire post season.

We like the Dodgers to sneak in a win here in Atlanta. Kershaw is just too good to pass up at this price.
