NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 5 Minnesota Wild at St. Louis Blues Start Time, Betting Odds

The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continue tonight when the St. Louis Blues take on the Minnesota Wild in an NHL Playoffs Game 5 matchup. The game is scheduled for an 9:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Blues favored to get the win at home to take a commanding lead over the Wild.

This game certainly is important to the series. The Blues are favored to pick up the win over Minnesota tonight, just one game after pouring in six goals against the Wild in the last game of the series.

St. Louis ranked inside the Top 10 for the regular season in goals scored per game, goals against, power play and penalty kill. Those made them finish with 109 points for the regular season, which tied the Blues with Anaheim for the most points in the Western Conference. Minnesota also finished in triple digits with 100 points themselves, and they had a chance to put a real problem on the Blues, but they came up short in impressive fashion in Game 4.

For the Blues' sake, hopefully the six goals scored in the last game wasn't all the scoring they have left. They led that game by three goals early in the opening period and never looked back, cruising to a series-tying win that has to make them feeling better about themselves. Minnesota needs to get past the loss as quickly as possible, realizing they still have ample opportunity to advance.

Playing well tonight is key for both teams in the pivotal Game 5. The Wild are using their own beatdown from that game as motivation in this game tonight — they had only 18 shots in the Game 4 loss.

St. Louis finished with the third best home mark in the Western Conference this year, which will allow them to have a continued success in this game tonight. The six goals was certainly an outlier, but tonight St. Louis gets solid play on the defensive end of the ice, a great game in goal and they take the 3-2 lead.
