The New York Rangers welcome in the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight in Game 7 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals. The game is scheduled for a 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Rangers favored to pick up another win and end the series tonight.
Henrik Lundqvist has been dynamite in Game 7 situations for the Rangers. In fact, he might be the best goal tenders in the history of hockey when it comes to playing in these types of games. The Rangers have won each of the last six Game 7 situations and Lundvist has posted an 0.81 goals against average during that time. He's also saved better than 97 percent of the shots he has faced.
Lundqvist earning six straight series-deciding, winner-take-all games is an NHL Playoff record. New York has to draw on some of their recent success to play with a sense of urgency tonight. The Rangers earned a solid 7-3 win over Tampa Bay in the most recent Game 6, one that rocked Ben Bishop in net.
Bishop, though, is taking the right approach to tonight's game from a goalies' perspective. The Lightning netminder said tonight's Game 7 will be like any other for him, his preparation and mindset won't change because of the bigger stage. That's important for him and the Lightning, any added pressure can't be doing them any good at this point.
Both teams should be rested up and ready to go tonight. The Rangers have won six of the 10 games at Madison Square Garden this post season and need to win their second straight in this series for the first time against Tampa Bay. New York was in the finals last year, they have the experience at this point in the post season and that will help them tonight.
Look for the Rangers to get ahead early and ride Lundqvist to another Stanley Cup appearance.
Free Pick: Rangers
NFL Free Pick: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
According to professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik, the early bird can catch a profitable worm if they put money down on Green Bay's opening week showing against the Chicago Bears. With the line currently at -4.5 at most Vegas sports books, Fezzik predicts it will move to -6.5 come game day, as no one is going to be betting on the Jay Cutler-helmed Bears, so the money will pour in on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. With that being the case, time strike early while the iron is hot.
