NHL Playoff Odds, Picks Anaheim Ducks at Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings will look to avoid elimination tonight when they take on the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 of the NHL Playoffs. Tonight's game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CNBC. Currently the Red Wings favored to win tonight and force a Game 7.

Three games in this series have already gone to overtime and Detroit won two of those. Had they won the third and final of those overtime games, they'd be up 3-2 in this series and looking for a chance to close it out tonight. But as it is, Anaheim, with a win in Joe Louis Arena, would advance to the second round.

It's not like they don't have a chance, either. The Ducks won Game 3 in Detroit with an impressive 4-0 mark.

Ryan Getzlaf has been a problem for the Red Wings. When he scores the Ducks win and if he scores tonight, Detroit's clearly in a bit of trouble.

Detroit captain Henrik Zetterberg leads all players in this series with 20 shots on goals but hasn't scored yet. His scoreless steak goes back to last season in the playoffs as well. He did assist on both goals for the Red Wings in their Game 5 loss. He has to start scoring some goals for the Red Wings.

Justin Abdelkader will be back on the ice for the Red Wings tonight after serving his 2-game suspension for a bad hit. Anaheim certainly isn't happy that he is getting to be back on the ice considering the man he hit, Toni Lydman, is still sidelined with some head problems because of the hit. Both guys are imperative to their team's success and without Lydman on the blue line for the Ducks, they are missing something there. Abdelkader plays on Zetterberg's line, which could help the Red Wings captain get back to putting the puck in the back of the net.

Damien Brunner and Johan Franzen have been playing well for the Red Wings and could be an important factor tonight for Detroit. Franzen leads the team with three goals in this post season.

We like the Red Wings at home in this one. Many thought this series would go seven games at the beginning of the playoffs and a win by Detroit tonight would give us that seventh and final game between these clubs. Look for Detroit to play hard and emotional in this one. We like them to win.
