NFL Sunday St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Why Tre Mason Has Become the Main Man in St. Louis Rams Backfield

The St. Louis Rams take on the Washington Redskins in NFL Sunday action today. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Rams favored on the road to get the win.

St. Louis has looked good at times this season, but only sits with a 5-7 record in the NFC West. The Rams drilled Oakland last week 52-0 and now will take on another NFL team in shambles as the Washington Redskins really have not had anything to be excited about this year. This could be a tough game for the Rams though, especially after picking up such a big win last week over the Raiders.

Washington has head coach and quarterback problems, is only 3-9 and still has to play the Giants, Philly and Dallas to end the year. That's not a good four-game stretch for the Skins, who have already dropped four straight games. The last win came on Monday Night Football, over the Cowboys, with Colt McCoy starting at quarterback. He's going to get the call again this week as the Skins are at home and trying to get things figured out.

The Rams are just 2-4 away from home this season and they have been alternating wins and losses the last seven weeks. St. Louis owns wins over Seattle, San Francisco and Denver this season but also has played terribly against weaken teams. If they are able to show up in this one and play well, they should be able to beat the Redskins.

Tre Mason has been a nice addition to the Rams, having run for better than 100 yards in two of the last three games overall. Mason and the Rams could have a tough time against a Washington defense that is Top 10 against the run this season, but expect them to take advantage of having the ball quite a bit in this one.

The Rams defense should also get after McCoy in this one. Washington is an average offense at best and St. Louis has the front line to provide pressure all game, chasing the quarterback around.

St. Louis is the right play here.

Free Pick: St. Louis 28, Washington 17
