NFL Sunday Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals: Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Hi-res-153840036_crop_exact

NFL Week 7 continues on Sunday night and we will see the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 PM (Eastern) start time and it will be televised live on NBC. Currently the odds have the game as a Pick. while the total sits at 45. Currently 71% of the Public is on Pittsburgh, while 66% is on the Over. Find out what side the Public is taking on all the games by clicking HERE.

Free Analysis: Pittsburgh has dominated this rivalry, sweeping the Bengals (SU and ATS) in each of the past two seasons. But the Steelers have been terrible on the road this year, dropping all three away games SU and ATS, including to bottom-feeders Tennessee and Oakland. Going back to last year, they’ve lost four road games in a row SU, and seven straight ATS. Roethlisberger is off to the best start of his career with 10 touchdowns and a 99.9 rating and he is 9-2 in his past 11 starts versus Cincinnati, throwing for 2,445 yards, (222 YPG), 13 TD and 8 INT. With both Mendenhall and Redman out, Jonathan Dwyer is expected to get the bulk of the rushing workload. But he's been pretty terrible in 2012, gaining just 70 yards on 24 carries (2.9 YPC) with one first down and one lost fumble. Backup Baron Batch may also get some touches, but he's been even worse than Dwyer with 34 yards on 16 carries (2.1 YPC). Defensively, the Steelers rank in the top-10 in both pass defense (201 YPG, 4th) and rush defense (95 YPG, 9th) despite a pedestrian 11 sacks and six turnovers this season.

Cincinnati's 3-1 start is a distant memory after losses to Miami and Cleveland, but the Bengals can return to the path which can lead them to their second straight postseason appearance by taking advantage of a vulnerable Steelers' team. Cincinnati's best chance appears to be through the air as Andy Dalton leads the No. 8 passing attack with a 66.0 percent completion rate and 12 touchdowns. Dalton had a rough series versus Pittsburgh last year, completing just 26-of-54 passes (48%) for 305 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT in both meetings combined. However, he currently has the best receiver in football at his disposal in A.J. Green. The second-year player leads the NFL with 628 receiving yards and his six receiving touchdowns are two more than any other AFC receiver. The Bengals have a subpar rushing offense though, ranking 21st in this category (99 YPG), including just 80 rushing YPG in two home games. On the other side of the ball, the Bengals rush defense has been excellent in the past three weeks, holding opponents to 82 rushing YPG on 2.8 YPC. They have also held each of their past four opponents to less than 220 passing yards.  The Bengals have hurt themselves with a minus-7 turnover margin, including minus-4 in the last two games.

Free Pick: Ok I like the Over in this one. Really the best way for the Bengals to score in this one is by throwing the ball and they will look to do that in this one. Pittsburgh is hurting on defense and the Bengals 8th ranked passing offense should be able to take advantage of a Steelers team that allowed Tennessee to throw for 265 yards vs them last week. Overall this Pitt defense has struggled on the road, allowing 30.3 ppg, compared to 23 ppg overall. The Steelers do have some offensive injuries, but mainly to their running corps and that should have them throwing the ball a ton in this one. The Bengals are 15th vs the pass (226 ypg), but they have allowed 27.2 ppg which is 22nd in the league. This should be a fun shootout out type of game with more balls in the air then we had planes in the air during desert storm. Look for 50+ here.
