NFL Preseason St. Louis Rams at Dallas Cowboys Start Time, Odds and Free Pick

The Dallas Cowboys will take the field at Cowboys Stadium for the first time this preseason when they host the St. Louis Rams tonight (8:00pm ET start time). Dallas, which is 1-1 in exhibition play, is a big favorite coming in as the latest NFL Preseason St. Louis Rams at Dallas Cowboys odds have the Pokes listed as a -5.5 against the spread favorite. This evening’s game total is set at 40.5 points and the Rams are drawing +200 moneyline odds ($100 wins $200) to improve their preseason record to 2-1 under new head coach Jeff Fisher.

Dallas looked all out of sorts on offense in its preseason opener at Oakland as the Raiders had Tony Romo running for his life on the team’s first series. The Cowboys went on to win the game 3-0, but they produced only 11 first downs and 202 yards in doing so.

The Pokes were much more in character last week against the Chargers, racking up 22 first downs and 366 total yards. Romo did not throw any touchdown passes in the 20-28 loss, but he did complete 9-of-13 passes for 75 yards and, more importantly, the team’s patch work offensive line helped him keep his jersey clean in building a 10-0 first half lead.

Dallas, which has yet to have all of its offensive line starters play together in preseason, will get one step closer to that tonight. Center Phil Costa is still dealing with a back injury and will not play; however, starting left guard Nate Livings will make his exhibition debut for the club after sitting out the first two games with a hamstring issue.

Like Dallas, St. Louis has been a mixed bag in the preseason, getting thrashed in its opener against the Colts before putting together a 31-17 win over the Chiefs last week. The Rams offense had two excellent drives to open against KC, leading to a 14-0 St. Louis lead with just over 10 minutes left to play in the first quarter. Sam Bradford completed 6-of-9 passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns in the impressive opening sequences.

The Rams appeared to take advantage of a Chiefs defense that was flat-footed and seemingly uninterested, though. That will not be the case tonight in the Big D with the third preseason game typically serving as the starters biggest prep work before the regular season arrives.

The betting public seems to feel St. Louis will step into a different situation this evening. Current bet percentages show the Cowboys, at -5.5, being backed by 74 percent of spread bettors. The Over is also popular with 61 percent of the money being on a final score that exceeds the posted game total of 40.5 points.

Free Pick: Take the Cowboys -5.5 in tonight’s game.

NFL Preseason St. Louis Rams at Dallas Cowboys Odds:

St. Louis Rams +5.5 (-115), Over 40.5 (-110), +200 (Moneyline)

Dallas Cowboys -5.5 (-105), Under 40.5 (-110), -240 (Moneyline)
