NFL Preseason Green Bay Packers at Cincinnati Bengals Odds and Free Pick

Green Bay will look for its first exhibition win this evening as it takes on the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium (7:00pm ET start time). The latest NFL Preseason Green Bay Packers at Cincinnati Bengals Odds have the Bengals, who are 2-0 in two exhibition outings, listed as a +3 against the spread home underdog. The odds makers are expecting a high scoring affair, for preseason football anyway; this evening’s game total is presently set at 45.5 points.

Green Bay is expected to contend for another Lombardi Trophy this season, but the Packers have been anything but super through two preseason outings. Mike McCarthy’s squad is 0-2, and the Packers vaunted offense has scored a grand total of 23 points.

While exhibition tells little, if anything, in regard to the regular season, most in Green Bay are probably anxious to see the same crew that marched up and down the field a season ago. Well, they will probably get their chance this evening.

The Packers starting unit, which will feature Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley for the first time this preseason, will probably play into the second half as is custom in the third exhibition game. Aaron Rodgers, in particular, is doubtless pining for an opportunity to take the training wheels off. Rodgers has completed just 8-of-19 passes for 75 yards, one touchdown, and one interception this preseason.

Cincinnati enters tonight’s contest with a 2-0 mark after topping a sloppy Jets team 17-6 in the opener; the Bengals followed up that victory with a 24-19 road win at Atlanta.

Cincy’s M.A.S.H unit defense played well against New York, limiting the offensively challenged Jets to 11 first downs and 173 total yards, but its offense sputtered opposite Rex Ryan’s defense. The Bengals finished the game with 14 first downs and 213 yards while Andy Dalton completed 4-of-9 passes for 54 yards.

The two units flipped roles last week in Atlanta as the Bengals defense yielded 28 first downs and 472 yards to the Falcons. Cincinnati’s offense did not wow anyone, but it did top the 300 yard mark, posting 322 in the road victory. Dalton was far more impressive, though, connecting on 8-of-14 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown.

Free Pick: Given the Bengals’ defensive effort last week and the fact that they are missing three starters on that side of the ball, Green Bay should secure a first half lead this evening and look more like the Packers team most are accustomed to seeing. Take the Over 45.5 in tonight’s game; the Over is 20-6 in Green Bay’s 26 preseason games under Mike McCarthy.

NFL Preseason Green Bay Packers at Cincinnati Bengals Odds:

Green Bay Packers -3 (+100), Over 45.5 (-110), -150 (Moneyline)

Cincinnati Bengals +3 (-120), Under 45.5 (-110), +130 (Moneyline)
