The Dallas Cowboys are in Baltimore today for an inter-conference showdown with the AFC North leading Ravens. Start time in this afternoon's game is scheduled for 1:00pm ET at M&T Bank Stadium. NFL Predictions and Odds have the hosting Ravens listed as a -3 against the spread favorite and the game total set at 44 points. The Cowboys are a +160 moneyline play ($100 wins $160) to win their third game of the season.

The Cowboys stirred up their large fan base with a season opening win over the defending champion Giants, but they have done their best since that victory to quell expectations.

Dallas sandwiched a 16-10 home win over the 1-3 Bucs between a 27-7 loss at Seattle and a 34-18 Monday night embarrassment against the Bears. The Pokes did outperform Chicago in a number of areas, but five Tony Romo interceptions resulted in the lopsided score.

Unfortunately for Dallas, it had to stew on that effort for two weeks as it comes into today’s game off its bye. That may or may not be a good thing, but, at least of late, it has worked in the favor Cowboys’ backers. Dallas is 3-1 against the spread (2-2 straight up) in its four most recent post-bye performances.

The Pokes catch a 4-1 Baltimore team that many see as a viable threat to win the AFC. The Ravens have been in a number of close games this season, though, as their last four games have been decided by a total of 12 points.

Baltimore received a major scare last weekend as a sloppy, turnover happy Chiefs squad had a late touchdown taken away on penalty to help the Ravens secure a 9-6 road victory.

Baltimore’s history says it should regroup with a strong showing today; the Ravens are 11-0 over the last five seasons playing as a home favorite coming off a road win.

Free Pick: Take the Cowboys +3.5. The hook makes Dallas the best play here, that and the fact that it has more than enough talent to stay with Baltimore so long as it avoids the turnover. Dallas played well in this spot last season as it traveled to Foxborough after its bye and nearly pulled off the upset against New England as a seven point road dog (lost 20-16).
