Carolina draws a frustrated Bills squad for its NFL Picks Week 2 assignment as they two teams are scheduled to butt heads at Ralph Wilson Stadium tomorrow afternoon. Kick off in the inter-conference clash is set for 1:00pm ET on FOX. Updated NFL Odds from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes are favoring the visiting Panthers at -2.5 against the spread and -150 on the money line ($150 wins $100). Buffalo is getting +130 straight up odds to avoid back to back home losses to start the season.

Buffalo, playing as a +10.5 against the spread home underdog, nearly pulled off the upset last week in its season opener with the Patriots. The Bills led 21-17 after three quarters of play, but eventually lost the game 23-21 after a late New England rally.

The final score was deceptive in many ways, though, as the Pats out-gained the Bills 431 yards to 286 while posting 26 first downs to Buffalo’s 15. The Bills were able to keep things close thanks to three New England turnovers, including a fumble they returned 74 yards for a touchdown.  

Carolina suffered through a similar heartbreaking defeat on its home turf last week as the Seahawks, who posted 370 yards to the Panthers 253, needed a late touchdown to escape Bank of America Stadium with a 12-7 win.

Despite the final result, the Panthers did some nice things in the trenches, limiting the Seahawks to a 2.7 yards per carry average while they pounded out 134 rush yards on 26 carries (5.2 ypc).

Carolina will find Buffalo’s defense far more accommodating than the Seahawks formidable unit, especially through the air. Cam Newton completed 16-of-25 passes last week for a meager 125 yards, but he should find greater success tomorrow afternoon.  

Key Trend: The Bills are 2-13 straight up and 3-12 against the spread over the last five years playing as an underdog coming off a home loss.
