The Dallas Cowboys are in the Show Me State tomorrow for a meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Sunday’s clash between the Cowboys and Chiefs is scheduled to get underway at 1:00pm ET on FOX. Dallas is drawing +140 money line odds ($100 wins $140) while KC is a -160 straight up ($160 wins $100) selection.
Few teams in the league looked more impressive last week than the Kansas City Chiefs; however, given the fact that KC’s performance came against the Jacksonville Jaguars, it is still too early to declare the Chiefs any sort threat to the Broncos in the AFC West.
Tomorrow’s meeting with the Pokes should provided more clarity for both teams. While it is certain Dallas handled a more difficult Week 1 foe, it also benefited from six Giants turnovers in a 36-31 win.
Granted, the Cowboys forced some of those mistakes, but when a team loses the ball six times it is also an indication they were sloppy with their ball security.
There are some questions about Dallas as it allowed 478 yards and an average of 8.1 yards per pass, and it managed just 3.8 yards per carry on offense while failing to convert on two of its four red zone opportunities.
The Cowboys will also have to overcome what is certain to be a raucous Arrowhead crowd. Dallas should feel the wrath of a fan base which is desperate for a winner but also excited after last week’s 28-2 victory over the Jaguars.
If KC’s defense can shut down the run, which seems like a strong possibility, Tony Romo will be forced to air it out early and often and that is not a tried and true formula for Cowboys success.
