The Tennessee Titans open the NFL regular season at home when they host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the NFL Odds for the game have the Vikings favored to pick up the win in this one on the road.
Total: 40 points
Kind of surprising to see the Vikings favored in this one on the road, especially now that Teddy Bridgewater is no longer available. The Vikings traded a first round pick in next year’s draft for Sam Bradford, the former No. 1 pick that has kind of bounced around during his time as an NFL quarterback.
Now he gets a chance to prove he can be good enough to help lead a team to the playoffs. Minnesota is certainly a team that believes it can be a Super Bowl contender with a strong defense and running game.
Tennessee has some issues, but they have a solid young quarterback in Marcus Mariota and what is expected to be a decent run game with DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry. The problems will be on the defensive end of the football, the secondary isn’t very good and although the defensive line is OK, the rest of the defense can’t make up for fixing problems.
Minnesota can win here with a better defense, a strong running game with Adrian Peterson and an offense that won’t turn it over.
