Minnesota has looked like the best team in the NFC, other than Philadelphia, for most of the season. The Vikings have won six in a row, have a dominant defense and Case Keenum is playing great football.

Keenum is 6-2 as the starter of the Vikings and has proven this is his football team. Detroit has scored five defensive touchdowns and returned two kicks for scores as well this season, excelling in that area of the game.

The Lions have also beaten each one of their divisional opponents on the road this season, most notably picking up a 14-7 victory over these Vikings back in?Week 4. Even so, they remain two games back of the Vikings in the NFC?North standings, so picking up a victory here would be huge for the Lions.

Opportunistic the last time they played, Detroit took advantage of three Minnesota fumbles. The Vikes only have two other fumbles lost all season. In this game, Matt Stafford and the Lions have to find a way to run the football somewhat similar to the first contest.

Detroit had 97 yards on the ground in that one and kept Minnesota honest enough that it proved to be a difference. This is a huge opportunity for the Lions. They’ll still trail in the division standings, but with a season sweep of Minnesota and a considerably easier schedule down the road, Detroit could be in the driver’s seat to win the division with a win.
