NFL Free Pick Atlanta Falcons vs Baltimore Ravens

Pro football Sunday and the Atlanta Falcons will travel to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland to take on the Baltimore Ravens. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on FOX. Current Vegas odds have the Ravens listed as 6.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 50.

Analysis:  The Atlanta Falcons come in at 2-4 on the year, which includes an 0-3 record on the road, losing all 3 road games by double digits. Atlanta has lost 3 in a row, including last week’s disappointing 27-13 home loss to the Bears. The Falcons are just 1-8 ATS the last 9 in this series, including 0-4 ATS the last 4 games played here, but they are also 8-1 ATS as dogs of 3 or more in the 1st of BB road games. The Falcons have been a strong offensive team this year, ranking 3rd in total yards, 3rd in passing, 21st in rushing and 5th in scoring, putting up 27.3 ppg. The defense has not been so strong as they come in ranked 31st in yards allowed, 29th vs the pass, 28th vs the run and 29th in points allowed, giving up 28.3 ppg.

The Baltimore Ravens come in at 4-2 on the year, which includes a 2-1 mark at home. After taking a rough 7 point road loss to the Colts two weeks ago, the Ravens bounce back nicely last week with a 48-17 whipping over lowly Tampa Bay. It was a huge game for Flacco, who threw for 306 yards with 5 TDs in the win. In games 5 thru 8 the Ravens are 7-1 ATS off a SU & ATS win vs an opponent off a DD SU loss and they are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs the NFC, but also 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs a team with a losing record. The Ravens have been a solid offensive team this year, ranking 8th overall, 12th in passing, 9th in rushing and 6th in scoring (27.3 ppg). The defense has given up yards, but not many points as they rank 17th in yards allowed, 27th vs the pass, 7th vs the run and 3rd in points allowed (16.2 ppg).

Pick: I will look at the Over in this game. The Ravens come in ranked 6th in the league in scoring, putting up 27.3 ppg and they will be taking on one of the worst defenses in the league in Atlanta, who has allowed 28.3 ppg on the year and are 29th in the league vs the pass. Flacco should have great success vs this defense especially should they get the running game going early. Baltimore has allowed just 16.7 ppg on the year, but no one has been able to stop the Falcons yet and I don’t expect the Ravens to be able to do so here either. I can see this game as a shootout with possibly 60 points on the scoreboard.
