NFL Football Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City Chiefs Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Packers vs. Seahawks: Score and Twitter Reaction for Thursday Night Football

The Seattle Seahawks travel to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in NFL Football action today. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Chiefs listed as the small favorites in this one.

Kansas City has gotten out to a 6-3 record on the season, losing only once at home. That loss came in the opening game of the year to the Tennessee Titans, but since then the Chiefs have been very good. Andy Reid's team comes into this matchup with the defending Super Bowl champions having won four in a row and six of their last seven games overall.

Seattle is not getting any love in this game, but they have won three games in a row coming into this game as well. The Seahawks are the best team in the league at running the football with Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson keeping the rock on the ground and piling up nearly 171 yards on the ground per game this season. That is the best number per game in the NFL and they could be able to run the football against Kanas City this season with the Chiefs giving up better than 115 on the ground per game. If Seattle can effectively run the football in this one they're going to have a great shot to pick up a win on the road.

The Seahawks will need to slow down the Chiefs running game, though. KC ranks fifth in the league with nearly 136 yards on the ground per game with Jamaal Charles leading the way. He's rushed for six touchdowns as well this season, but it could be a tough contest against the Seahawks in this one. Alex Smith is known as a game-manager and Kansas City hasn't been turning the football over, coughing it up just twice in the last four weeks. Fitting that all four of those games ended in wins.

Seattle will look to pressure Smith and speed the game up. If they can force KC into turnovers it will certainly help their chances of winning on the road. Playing in the early time slot isn't the best thing for a West Coast team, but Seattle needs to keep winning football games. The Seahawks are looking up at the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West and can't really afford a loss in this one.

KC has covered four straight games, but Seattle often plays well in these situations when they need a victory. The Seahawks are the better overall team and will get pushed here, but come out with the win.

Free Pick: Seattle 27, Kansas City 24
