The Seattle Seahawks welcome in the San Francisco 49ers in NFL Football action today. The game is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Seahawks favored to pick up the win in this one.
San Francisco can be eliminated from playoff contention in this game with a Detroit Lions win and an outright loss in this game. The 49ers have not been the same type of team under head coach Jim Harbaugh as they've been the past three seasons and there's been some talk of the gritty coach being forced out of town. Either way, if they aren't able to find a way to get this win over the surging Seahawks, the final two games for San Francisco won't matter.
Seattle, led by Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, has dominated this series of late, winning the last six games overall and covering the number in those games as well. Collin Kaepernick has not looked good all season for the 49ers and he has really struggled against the Seahawks in his career. Kaepernick has been held under 175 yards passing in four straight games against Seattle, throwing three TDs and nine interceptions during that time as well.
The Seahawks have just been dominating the NFC West as well, holding an 11-2-1 mark against the spread when hosting a team from the division. They're winning those games by an average of two touchdowns. San Francisco has been a physical football team and the defense has been up and down this season with several players missing time because of injuries and suspensions.
Either way, the 49ers just cannot move the football while they are on offense. Nothing seems to be working right for San Francisco and catching Seattle, which has won three straight games overall and five of their six games at home this season. Seattle is just playing too well right now, with San Francisco playing very poorly.
