Preseason NFL Football Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots hit the field tonight in preseason NFL Football action. The game is scheduled for an 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NFL Network. The Patriots are favored by about a field goal in this one.

Green Bay and New England are both expected to have solid seasons in the NFL this season. Aaron Rodgers has the potential to be an MVP candidate yet again this season and he'll lead the Packers in the NFC North, which again is a very winnable division. The Tom Brady problems are still floating around in Patriots camp, it seems both he and Roger Goodell are at a standstill in this lengthy battle. Whether or not that gets figured out anytime soon remains to be seen and we know Brady will miss at least some time during the regular season, it looks like.

In this game don't expect a whole lot of snaps from starters at key positions. In the Hall of Fame game on Sunday many of the stars didn't play between Minnesota and Pittsburgh, although Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater did play a single drive and looked good in a handful of plays. Rodgers probably won't see the field and we know Brady won't either, but we should see a lot of action from the second and third rotational players in this one.

Jimmy Garoppolo should get a bulk of the snaps, then, with Ryan Lindley being the only other quarterback on the roster for the Patriots. He was officially signed to the roster on Monday, so just how many snaps are we expecting him to get? Garoppolo will be playing during the regular season as well, it seems, as long as Brady is missing games. Might as well get him used to live action as much as possible.

Obviously these games don't mean a whole lot, but both teams are looking to see what kind of depth they will have at several positions.

Much like the Hall of Fame game, the under seems like a positive bet in this one.

Movie Oakland Raiders: 2015 NFL Free Picks & Betting Odds

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
