NFL Football Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans Start Time, Betting Odds, Free Pick

The Houston Texans are hosting the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday Night Football this evening. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NFL Network. The NFL Odds for the game have the Texans favored by a slight amount here at home.

NFL Odds
Houston -2
Total: 41.5 points

The Houston Texans have made a change a quarterback and everyone seems to be talking about it. Brock Osweiler lost his starting job last week after his struggles continued and now Tom Savage has been given the keys to the team. Savage, in his third season out of Pittsburgh, has yet to throw a touchdown during his time in the NFL. That could change tonight against a Cincinnati defense that is a middle of the road one this season, though the secondary has been decent at times.

Cincinnati is still without A.J. Green, who was ruled out for this game earlier today. The Bengals have won just two of their last six games overall and they have not been good in road contests, winning just twice in seven games overall. A win here would certainly be one that is filled with tough defense and just enough offense.

Houston still leads the AFC South with an 8-6 record and it's rare a team in first place makes a change at the quarterback position this late, but here they are with Savage. The Texans offense has scored the fifth-fewest points of any team in pro football this season with just 250, but they believe a change at QB could spark what that need to begin getting more points on board.

Lamar Miller is a gametime decision here for the Texans and they could be going to Alfred Blue if that's the case. Miller has over 1,000 yards rushing this season and his production will be tough to replicate for Houston.

Cincinnati needs big games from Andy Dalton at quarterback and Jeremy Hill coming out of the backfield. Houston has the best overall defense in football in terms of total defense and playing at home, they should be charged up and ready to play. The Bengals have nothing to play for but pride but they are a short favorite dog here against an inexperienced quarterback.

This game feels like one with a lot of punts.
