The Carolina Panthers are on the road in NFL Football action on Sunday, taking on the New Orleans Saints. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. The NFL Odds for the game have the Panthers favored by a field goal in this one.
Total: 53 points
Neither Carolina or New Orleans is having a successful season to date with only one win each on the record. Something will have to give in this one, though, as Carolina is winless in road games and New Orleans is yet to win a game in their own building as well.
Cam Newton is expected to give it a go in this one, he’s recovering from concussion symptoms but the Panthers should have their leader back in this one. Derek Anderson played on Monday Night Football against Tampa Bay earlier this week and the Panthers never looked like they had a successful flow, losing to the Bucs.
Carolina should be concerned with its defense more than anything. The Panthers are giving up 27 points per game while averaging less than 25 themselves. New Orleans should be ready to go in this one, coming off a bye week. Drew Brees has been sharp to date, tossing 10 touchdowns to just three interceptions during the early portion of the season.
Brees isn’t the reason the Saints are 1-3 and them losing two games on their own field is not something New Orleans fans have been used to during his time as the quarterback and leader. New Orleans is giving up a league-high 32.5 points per game this season and when Newton is playing well the Panthers can score, but he’s a bit banged up here. Brees catching points at home against a struggling Panthers team is worth it here.
