The Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals square off in NFL Football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Cardinals favored in this one on the road.
Interesting to see the Falcons hosting a game with a late start time in this one with Arizona. The Falcons have been a mess this season with their 4-7 record, but it has them still alive (atop, too) the NFC South standings. The winner of that division could finish with a below .500 record for the season, but making the playoffs is the only thing that matters.
Arizona is playing their second string quarterback in Drew Stanton with the Carson Palmer injury and Stanton has been serviceable this year. Stanton led the Cardinals to a win over Detroit but couldn't help the team score any points last week as Arizona was beaten up by Seattle, scoring only three points in that contest.
This should be a fun game to watch as both teams play well indoors. Atlanta has always been a good team at home under Matt Ryan, but he will be challenged today by a good Cardinals defense. The Falcons do not run the football well but it would be tough for them to do it anyway as Arizona is one of the best in the league against the run.
Arizona is favored and there's a reason for it. Atlanta has been too inconsistent all season and it's tough taking a team that's just 4-7 on the season, even if they are at home. Look for the Cardinals to run the football effectively, play solid defense and pick up a road win.
