NFL Betting Odds San Francisco 49ers vs St. Louis Rams

Rams vs. 49ers: Full Roster Report Card Grades for San Francisco

The San Francisco 49ers hit the road tonight to take on the St. Louis Rams on Monday Night Football. Currently the NFL Betting Odds for the game have the 49ers favored on the road by a field goal in this one.

Jeff Fisher and the Rams have been battling through some injuries to start the season and find themselves at just 1-3. Having to start all over again with another backup quarterback hasn't helped things for the Rams, hosting a 3-2 San Francisco team that is also dealing with their own problems.

San Francisco has already won two straight games overall and are looking to pile up another one in their pretty tough schedule. Later this week the 49ers will travel to take on Denver on Sunday Night Football before their bye week.

The 49er defense has been playing well this year, but hasn't been the complete dominant force of year's past. They rank third best in the league against the pass and have played some decent throwing squads already this season in Dallas, Chicago and even Philly. They won two of those games, mainly taking away the run from their opponents. Teams have only been able to garner up 77 yards per game on the ground against the 49ers this season.

Offensively San Francisco has been up and down. They're finding a way to score consistently and get the job done. They haven't played on the road in a couple of weeks, but taking on a division foe when they are down seems like a good spot for the Jim Harbaugh-led 49ers.

St. Louis is an underdog in this one, making it four straight weeks the home team on Monday Night Football is getting points. It makes sense in this situation, especially, as the Rams haven't been able to consistently stop the opposition.

In their losses this year St. Louis has given up 34 points three times — once to Minnesota, Dallas and Philly. Their lone win was a 19-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the Rams rank first in the league at holding down passing offenses (192 yards through air to opponents), they are dreadful against the run. St. Louis ranks 31st in the league, allowing teams to rush for better than 152 yards on the ground per game. Look for Frank Gore and Colin Kaepernick to both have big games on the ground in this one.

San Francisco is the better team, will show that on both sides of the football in this one and pick up a comfortable win.
