The Seattle Seahawks host the New York Giants in NFL Football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the NFL Betting Odds for the game have the Seahawks listed right around a double digit favorite to get the win.
The Seahawks have had the target on their backs all season. And while they sit at 5-3 for the year, there's still half a season left and no reason for Seattle fans to panic just yet. The Arizona Cardinals area leading the division but San Francisco is having a down year and a win here for Seattle should put everything back into perspective.
One good note for Seattle in this one is their very good record at home. The home of the 12th man, when Seattle hosts anybody the crowd is a major factor. Last week Oakland nearly pulled the upset, though, falling by just a touchdown to the Seahawks while Dallas did beat them earlier in the year.
The Giants are 3-5 and have a ton of problems. They can't win on the road (1-3) and are having issues offensively with Eli Manning and scoring points. Offensively the G-Men are middle of the road in both passing and rushing and outside of a three-game stretch that saw them win the offense has caused them to lose. In wins over Houston, Washington and Atlanta the Giants scored at least 30 points and hung 45 on the Redskins. Other than that, New York scored just over 14 points per game. The inconsistencies have Giants fans clamoring to figure out just what is going wrong. Last week they got beat up by the Indianapolis Colts and now have to play a physical team in the Seattle Seahawks. It only gets worse for the Giants as they'll take on San Francisco and Dallas the next two weeks as well. Not good.
Russell Wilson and the Seahawks are going to want to run the football here. They rank second best in the league at 148.5 yards on the ground per game while the Giants give up 119 on the ground themselves. Seattle has won two straight games after dropping a pair. The defense is playing better and should cause the Giants problems in this one. Wilson, by the way, is 8-0 against Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.
