NFL Betting Odds Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are hosting the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game. The game is scheduled for a 3:05 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. The NFL Odds for the game have the Falcons favored to pick up the victory at home.

NFL Odds
Atlanta -5.5
Total: 60 points

The Atlanta Falcons are a tough team to beat when playing at home.  This year three teams were able to get the best of them inside the Georgia Dome, though — Tampa Bay won in the opening week, San Diego won in the middle of the season and Kansas City was the last team to beat the Falcons this year. Those losses came by a combined 11 points.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are red hot right now, winners of eight straight overall, including victories over the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys in these playoffs. During the win streak Green Bay has put up better than 32 points per game on average and Rodgers has been throwing the ball all over the yard and making plays.

Atlanta’s the highest-scoring team in the league, averaging 33.8 points per game this season. They were the only team to put up better than 30 points per game on the campaign and the only team in the NFL that surpassed 470 points scored, they finished with 540. QB Matt Ryan is a legitimate MVP candidate, he threw for 38 scores this season and almost 5,000 yards.

The Falcons put up 36.5 points per game at home this season. That home field advantage could be a big part of their chances to win in this one.

Both teams are plus-double digits in turnover differential this date on the season, making any of those in this contest that much bigger.

Atlanta’s ability to run the football with Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will also play a huge role. The Falcons had a Top 5 rush offense this season, Green Bay finished eighth-best against the run this season.

The Packers having some banged-up receivers will also be important. Jordy Nelson probably won’t play in this one. Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison probably will play, but each is banged up pretty good.

Atlanta’s historically strong offense will be the difference here.
