The Washington Capitals and New York Rangers will take to the ice tonight in Game 4 of their NHL Playoffs series. The game is scheduled for an 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Capitals favored to take a commanding series lead with a win.

Alex Ovechkin is looking to get his Capitals to the conference finals for the first time in his career. Picking up a Game 4 win over the Rangers tonight would certainly help, which would give Washington a 3-1 advantage over a Rangers team that felt improved over last season's Stanley Cup Finals appearance. 

New York needs to continue to put pressure on Washington during the opening period of action. The Rangers have outshot the Caps 38-18 the first three games combined, but only have one win to show for it so far this series. Braden Holtby has taken on a lot of shots through that time frame, saving 93 shots so far against he Rangers. 

The Rangers need to get a better contribution goal-wise from its stars. Rick Nash has scored just once in the post season, but he finished third in the regular season for goals scored with 43. Ovechkin led the league in goals scored with 52. Derick Brassard leads the Rangers with four tallies to this point in the post season, but he also leads the team in penalty minutes with eight. That combination needs to improve tonight to give the Rangers a bit of a boost.

In this game tonight, New York needs to find a way to win on the road. They should be able to draw upon past success this season for that as well, with the Rangers leading the league as the best overall team on the road. The Rangers pick up a much-needed win tonight.
