The Tampa Bay Lightning welcome in the New York Rangers tonight in Game 6 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals. The game is scheduled for a 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Lightning favored to pick up another win and end the series tonight.
New York is playing in an elimination game after falling in Game 5 on their own ice. Now it's up to the Rangers to find a way to get it done in Florida here tonight in order to keep their season going. That certainly won't be easy as the Lightning were the best team in the league at home during the regular season.
Henrik Lundqvist absolutely has to play well tonight for New York to have a shot. The Rangers can win the slug-it-out type of game that features only a few goals, but it didn't work in Game 5 as the Rangers fell 2-0. Tampa Bay also scored 12 combined goals in Games 2 and 3, which weren't great outings for Lundqvist. The Lightning have been able to score goals and make them count in big spots, how can the Rangers match that type of offensive attack?
Ben Bishop for Tampa Bay has been pretty solid in between the pipes, now he needs to continue that tonight. Tampa Bay has the ability to beat both Chicago and Anaheim in the Stanley Cup Finals, if they get there, but picking up another win against a Rangers team that is going to be consistently bringing pressure tonight will be a tough task.
New York has to slow down Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson and the goal-scorers for the Lightning. The defense from New York has to continue to be physical and if they get a lead, they can't play tight. Tampa Bay can play well from behind and there's no pressure on them tonight.
If New York builds even the smallest lead, they have to keep up the attack.
Free Pick: Rangers
NFL Free Pick: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
According to professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik, the early bird can catch a profitable worm if they put money down on Green Bay's opening week showing against the Chicago Bears. With the line currently at -4.5 at most Vegas sports books, Fezzik predicts it will move to -6.5 come game day, as no one is going to be betting on the Jay Cutler-helmed Bears, so the money will pour in on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. With that being the case, time strike early while the iron is hot.
