NCAA Football Odds Navy vs Western Kentucky

Navy
will take to the road for the second time this season as it meets the Sun Belt's Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at LT Smith Stadium on Saturday. This weekend's battle between the two schools is scheduled to kickoff at 2:00pm ET on ESPNews. NCAA Football Odds from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes have the Midshipmen listed as a -3 against the spread and -145 money line favorite ($145 wins $100). The Over/Under in Saturday's games is set at 57.5 points.

Western Kentucky jumped out to a 5-1 start a season ago, but it finished the year with a 7-6 record after dropping the Little Caesars Bowl 21-24 to Central Michigan. Hilltoppers fans can only hope for the reverse this year as their team is off to a 2-2 start under new head coach Bobby Petrino.

Western Kentucky defeated Kentucky 35-26 in its season opener and it notched a 58-17 win over FCS school Morgan State last weekend, but sandwiched between those two wins were ugly losses to Tennessee (20-52) and South Alabama (24-31).

The odds makers are expecting loss number three for the Hilltoppers on Saturday when they welcome Navy to LT Smith Stadium in Bowling Green.

The Midshipmen have been impressive through two games, taking out favored Indiana squad 41-35 before pounding Delaware 51-7 last weekend.

Navy's offense, led by quarterback Keenan Reynolds, has been dominant, racking up 58 first downs, 1104 total yards, and 796 rush yards. As a result, the Middies currently rank first in nation in rushing, ninth in scoring, and 10th in total offense.

As for Reynolds, he has completed 12 of his 17 pass attempts for 304 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 236 yards and three scores on 47 carries.

Western Kentucky is a quality team with a good coach, but the Midshipmen are, frankly, a bad match-up for the Hilltoppers. WKU's defense is 96th in the nation in rush defense, giving up an average of 195.5 yards per game on the ground.

Tennessee showcased what a good rushing team can do to the Hilltoppers defense as it pounded out 240 yards on 45 attempts for a 5.3 yards per carry average in its 32 point victory.

Navy's offensive game plan is no secret, but stopping it is a difficult task, just ask the Hoosiers of Indiana.

Notable Trends: Navy is 6-1 both straight up and against the spread in its last seven games as a road favorite in the month of September with a spread between 0 and 3.5 points.

NCAA Football Odds Navy vs Western Kentucky:

Navy Midshipmen -3 (-105), Over 57.5 (-110), -145 (Moneyline)

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers +3 (-115), Under 57.5 (-110), +125 (Moneyline)
