NCAA Basketball Picks Missouri Tigers vs Florida Gators

College basketball on Tuesday night and we will see the Missouri Tigers travel to Florida to take on the Florida Gators. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Vegas odds have the Gators listed as 12 point favorites, while the total sits at 131.

Analysis: The Missouri Tigers are a stellar 16-5 overall this season but have had an up-and-down run in the SEC (4-4) and they come in having dropped a tough 84-79 home game to Kentucky. They've held their own on the road this year, winning three of five. Missouri has solid on the offensive end of the floor, hitting 46.4% from the floor, which has led to 75.0 ppg. The team also boasts an impressive rebounding margin (+6.9) and free-throw percentage (72%). Jabari Brown leads the SEC in scoring with 20.4 ppg, while doing so on 50.8% shooting from the field, including 47.7% from long range. Jordan Clarkson has been solid as well, putting up 18.9 ppg, while adding 3.4 apg and 1.3 spg,. Rounding out one of the nation's best scoring trios is Earnest Ross with 14.2 ppg. Defensively, the Tigers are very solid allowing just 67.4 ppg on 39.

Florida has jumped out to a 19-2 record, tying its best 21-game start in program history, while also staking claim to first place in the SEC with an 8-0 league ledger. The Gators are off a 69-36 destruction of Texas A&M, to extend their school-record home winning streak to 27 games. The offensive comes in averaging a modest 71.2 ppg on 46% shooting from the field. Casey Prather leas the offense with 16.2 ppg on greater than 62%, while Michael Frazier (12.6 ppg), Scottie Wilbekin (11.9 ppg, 3.6 apg), Patric Young (10.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and Finney-Smith (10.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg) round a very deep team. Frazier is the teams best long range threat, hitting 43.3% from deep. This game will feature highly touted freshman Chris Walker, who will be making his first start for the Gators this year. Walker must donate the $280 he received from agents to charity and perform 80 hours of community service for other benefits he received, including air fare, lodging and cellphones.

Pick:  Im going to back the Under here. The Florida defense has been outstanding and if you couple that with a slow down pace on offense then you get an OU mark of 12-4 to the Under in their games this year. Florida home games have gone 8-1-1 to the Under with an average of 124.9 ppg being scored in those games. The Gators allow just 53.1 ppg on 36.3% shooting in their home games and while Missouri does score 71.8 ppg on the road, they only shoot 39.2% away from home. The Gators average 71.8 ppg at home, but are bad from long range (32.3%) and the FT line (66.3) in their home games and while Missouri allowed 71.6 ppg on the road, they do so on just 41.2% shooting. This should be a rather slow paced game, with more defense than offense as we get a game played in the lower 120's at best.
