San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers Game 2 NBA Playoff Odds, Free Pick

Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs continue on Wednesday night and we will see the San Antonio Spurs travel to the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers, in game 2 of heir best-of-seven series. The game has a start time of 10:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have the Clippers listed as 2 point favorites, while the total is set at 207.

Analysis: The San Antonio Spurs had a chance on the final day of the season to grab the 2nd seed in the West, but they ran up against a more motivated New Orleans squad and then ended up dropping to 6th in the West. In game 1 of this series they also ran into a more motivated team and that resulted in a blowout loss to the Clipps. San Antonio has gone 8-2 ATS in their last 10 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game, but just 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 2 days rest. The Spurs have been a good offensive team this year, ranking 7th in scoring (103.2 ppg), 3rd in shooting, 6th in 3 point shooting and 4th in FT shooting. Defensively the Spurs have been solid, ranking 3rd in points allowed (97.0 ppg), 13th in defensive FG% and 24th in 3 point defense.

The Clippers were a very dangerous team coming into the playoffs, as they had won 14 of their last 15 games of the regular season. Now you can make it 15 of their last 16 after their easy game 1 win over the Spurs. With Griffin back on this team the Clipps have been nearly unbeatable and look to make it a 2-0 lead over the Spurs tonight. LA has gone 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 2 days rest, but just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Clippers have been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 2nd in scoring (106.7 ppg), 2nd in shooting, 3rd in 3 point shooting and 28th in FT shooting. Defensively the Clippers have been rather average, ranking 16th in points allowed (100.1 ppg), 11th in defensive FG% and 15th in 3 point defense.

Pick: I will go with the Over in this game. The Spurs have their backs against the wall here and they must pick up the pace of the game or they will go down 2-0. Playing fast is ok by the Clippers, especially on their home floor, where they have averaged 106 ppg on the year. The Spurs are not the great defensive team they have been in the past, while the Clippers are hit and miss when it comes to defense. We should see 210= in this game.
