NBA Thursday Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

NBA basketball on Thursday night and we will see Denver Nuggets travel to Oracle Arena in Oakland, California to take on the Golden State Warriors. The game has a start time of 10:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Vegas odds have the Warriors listed as 11 point favorites, while the total sits at 214.5.

Stat Packs: The Denver Nuggets come into this game at 34-44 and are well out of the playoff picture. They have struggled on the road this year, going 13-36, but one of those road wins were at Golden State, back in January. The Nuggets come in ranked 9th in the league in scoring (104.4 ppg) and 14th in the league in shooting (44.9%). They do struggle at the FT line, hitting just 72.7% of their freebies to rank 27th in the league. Ty Lawson (17.6 ppg) and Wilson Chandler (14.0 ppg) lead the team in scoring but both are questionable for this game. Still this is a deep team as 10 players average at least 7 ppg, with 7 of those players averaging in double figures. Defensively this is not a good team as they have allowed 106.5 ppg (28th) on 45.6% shooting (16th).

The Golden State Warriors are having a solid year as they come in at 48-29 on they and are firmly entrenched in the number 6 spot for the playoffs in the Western Conference. The Warriors are also a solid 26-13 on their home floor this year. Golden State is a very good offensive team as they come in ranked 10th in the league in scoring at 103.6 ppg, while also ranking 9th in shooting overall (46.1%) and 5th in 3pt shooting (37.8%). Just 3 players average in double figures on this team, led by Steph Curry, who scored 23.5 ppg on the year. David Lee is next at 18.5 ppg, while close behind is Klay Thompson. David Lee will be missing this game though. At the defensive end of the floor the Warriors are also very solid as they rank 8th in points allowed (98.8 ppg), 4th in defensive FG% (43.6%) and 3rd in 3pt defense (34.4%).

Pick: I can see this one as a bit lower scoring than most think. The Nuggets should be without their two best scorers and this Golden State team plays great defense at home, where they have allowed just 96.6 ppg for the year. The Warriors score 104.3 ppg at home, and the Nuggets allows 107.9 on the road, but i feel that once this team gets up big, and they should, they will call off the dogs. I look for this one to stay under 210 points.
