The Portland Trail Blazers continue their four game road swing tonight with a stop at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. There Portland will face the Eastern Conference's best team, at least by record, in the Indiana Pacers. This evening's East versus West clash between the Blazers and Pacers is scheduled to get underway at 7:00pm ET on ESPN. The latest NBA Odds have Indiana listed as a -6 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 197.5 points.

The Trail Blazers sport an impressive 35-14 record, a mark which has them sitting third in the Western Conference standings, but their play has slipped some of late.

Portland opened its current road set with a 100-90 loss to the Wizards on Monday night, giving the team its fifth setback since January 20th (nine games). The Blazers were able to bounce back from the Washington loss, though, thanks to the sometimes hot but often cold New York Knicks.

Portland downed New York 94-90 at the Garden on Wednesday evening, despite shooting just 38 percent from the field. The Knicks inability to connect from three point range certainly aided the Blazers cause as Carmelo Anthony and company were just 4-of-21 from beyond the arc.

Nonetheless, the Trail Blazers can and should expect a different result tonight if they shoot as poorly against the Pacers.

Indiana is not known for its offense, but it has more than a few players capable of putting games away, especially when the other team is struggling to make baskets. And that happens frequently against the Pacers, who are the top defensive team in the NBA (90.3 points per game).

Indiana is all the more dangerous at home, where it has recorded 23 wins in 25 games this season. The Suns were able to score a 102-94 win at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on January 30th, and Brooklyn nearly pulled off an upset there last Saturday (lost 96-97); however, despite those two results, the Pacers have outscored the last 10 visitors to the venue by an average of 14.4 points per game.

Notable Trends: The Pacers are 6-0 straight up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six games playing as a home favorite and coming off a road win that was preceded by a home win (courtesy of Dr. Meyer's SDQL).
