The reeling Philadelphia 76ers will look to get things turned around tonight against the Toronto Raptors. Start time in this evening’s Eastern Conference showdown between the Raptors and 76ers is set for 7:00pm ET. Toronto, which defeated the 76ers 90-72 last Wednesday, is drawing +140 moneyline odds ($100 wins $140); the game total is set at 188.5 points.
When the Sixers rolled into Toronto last week they had dropped four games (three on the road) in a six day span. Philadelphia most definitely showed signs of fatigue as it shot a meager 39.2 percent from the field (2-for-10 from beyond the arc) and 63.2 percent from the charity stripe.
The Raptors, who won the battle of the boards 46 to 37, took advantage of Philly’s poor effort and cruised to a 90-72 victory.
The 76ers halted their five game slide on Saturday, topping the visiting Rockets 107-100 at the Wells Fargo Center, but they quickly returned to their losing ways on Tuesday with a 111-99 home loss to the Hornets.
Fortunately for Philly, it catches a weary Toronto team this evening as the Raptors have played three games in five days. Dwane Casey’s crew dropped a home game with the Bucks on Sunday (107-96), lost at Brooklyn on Tuesday (113-106), and fell again at home on Wednesday to the visiting Bulls (107-105 OT).
Given the Raptors recent slate as well as their well documented road woes (4-16 away from home this season), tonight seems like the perfect spot to back Philadelphia.
