NBA basketball on Wednesday night and we will see Golden State Warriors travel to the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado to take on the Denver Nuggets. The game has a start time of 10:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised locally on ESPN. Vegas odds have the Nuggets listed as 8 point favorites, while the total sits at 210.
Stat Packs: The Golden State Warriors are having a solid year as they come in at 50-31 on the year and they are headed to the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time since 1991 and 1992. The Warriors are also a solid 23-17 on the road this year and they are 7-2 ATS the last 9 meetings with the Nuggets. Golden State is a very good offensive team as they come in ranked 10th in the league in scoring at 104.1 ppg, while also ranking 9th in shooting overall (46.2%) and 4th in 3pt shooting (38.0%). Just 3 players average in double figures on this team, led by Steph Curry, who scores 24.0 ppg on the year. Klay Thomson is next at 18.5 ppg, while close behind is David lee, who averages 18.2 ppg. At the defensive end of the floor the Warriors are also very solid as they rank 9th in points allowed (99.3 ppg), 4th in defensive FG% (43.6%) and 4th in 3pt defense (34.5%).
The Denver Nuggets come into this game at 36-45 and will be home for the playoffs for the first time in a decade. They have played well at home this year, going 22-18 on this floor but are 0-4 ATS vs the Warriors in the last 4 meetings here. The Nuggets come in ranked 9th in the league in scoring (104.3 ppg) and 19th in the league in shooting (44.7%). They do struggle at the FT line, hitting just 72.1% of their freebies to rank 27th in the league. Ty Lawson (17.6 ppg), leads the team in scoring, but is doubtful for this game. That leaves Wilson Chandler as the leading scorer on the team at 13.9 ppg, while Kenneth Faried is second at 13.6 ppg. Actively the Nuggets have 9 players average at least 7 ppg, with 6 of those players averaging in double figures. Defensively this is not a good team as they have allowed 106.3 ppg (28th) on 45.6% shooting (14th), but they do allow just 35.1% from long range, which is 7th in the league.
Pick: Going to look Under here. Just can't see the Warriors wanting to run with this team and they will also be siting players as they look to get ready for the playoffs. Denver can put up some points, but still this is a very solid defensive team that the Warriors have and they should keep Denver at bay for most of the night. Really hard to see this one played higher than 205 points, especially with all the offense that will be sitting for Golden State.
