The Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns highlight tonight's NBA action as they are scheduled to do battle at the U.S. Airways Center. Tip off in this evening's meeting between the two squads is set for 9:00pm ET; coverage of the game will be provided by NBA TV. The Suns have left a lot of scorched earth in their wake of late as they ride a five game winning streak into tonight's meeting with the Bulls. However, aside from Indiana and Denver, they have beat up on mostly poor teams.

Most recently Phoenix, a winner in eight of its last 10 games, followed up its shocking 102-94 road win over the Pacers last Thursday with a 105-95 victory against the Bobcats on Saturday night.

The win improved the Suns record to 29-18 and left them three games back of the first place Clippers in the Pacific standings. It also marked the eighth time in their last 10 games they scored 102 or more points.

Phoenix may have trouble reaching that number this evening against the defensive minded Bulls, but that may not matter.

Chicago had an exceptional January, but it enters tonight's contest in a bit of a funk. The Bulls pulled off a surprising 96-86 upset of the shorthanded Spurs last Wednesday in San Antonio, but they have since suffered away losses to the Pelicans and Kings.

The setback in Sacramento, which marked Chicago's fourth loss in its last six games, was particularly bad. The Bulls shot just 28.2 percent from the field and 20 percent from three point range against a Kings squad that is giving up almost 104 points per game.

The only thing the Bulls may be able to hang their hat on tonight is their recent dominance over the Suns. Chicago has won five of the last six games in this inter-conference series, including a 92-87 victory at the United Center last month.

Notable Trends: The Bulls are 4-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last five games as an away underdog coming off back to back road losses.
