NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Martinsville STP Gas Booster 500 Odds, Start Time

Today's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Martinsville race will take place on a short track, where a lot of things could go wrong in a very short instance. The STP Gas Booster 500 is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. The odds for the race has Jimmie Johnson as the favorite.

There was no race last week for NASCAR to observe the Easter holiday, but today the cars get back on the track in Martinsville. The half-mile track will see a lot of bumping, braking and fast-moving action. There's never really a dull moment in NASCAR and with the feud between Tony Stewart and Joey Logano, there's always the threat that somebody's day could end sooner than expected.

Johnson, who is the odds-on favorite to win the race, will start from the pole position. He won the Daytona 500 to begin the season, but has no been able to get back into victory lane yet. Expect him to have a good run today, though. He'll start on the opening row with Marcos Ambrose.

Brian Vickers and Logano will start in the second row followed by Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth and rounding out the Top 10 to start the race will be Carl Edwards and Ryan Newman.

NASCAR odds for Martinsville

Jimmie Johnson     +250
Jeff Gordon            +600
Kyle Busch             +700
Brad Keselowski    +800
Clint Bowyer          +800
Kasey Kahne         +1100
Dale Earnhardt Jr   +1500
Kevin Harvick         +1500
Carl Edwards         +1500

The odds are pretty spread odd as the race probably will be as well. Look for a lot of lead changes in this one. It's hard to predict who will come out and win this race because of all the crashes, bumps and weird things that can happen on a half mile track.

But in the end it's hard not to like Kyle Busch or Jimmie Johnson in this one. They both have decent odds to win the race, so we are picking both of them to finish very high in this one.
