The fourth race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will take place this afternoon at the legendary Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. Start time in today’s Food City 500 is set for 1:00pm ET; the race will be broadcast live on FOX. NASCAR Food City 500 Odds at offshore bookmaker Sportsbook.ag have Kyle Busch, who drives the No. 18 M&M’s Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, listed as a +300 favorite to win this afternoon’s race ($100 wins $300). Reigning Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski is a second pick at +500 while current points leader Jimmie Johnson is drawing +700 odds.
Kyle Busch (+300 to win, -110 top three finish): Kyle Busch, who won yesterday’s Nationwide Series race at Bristol, saw his season get off to a rocky start with 34th and 23rd place finishes in the Daytona 500 and Subway Fresh Fit 500 respectively. Busch had a nice result last weekend, though, turning a 13th place start into a fourth place finish in Las Vegas. The odds makers expect him to build on last week’s success and for good reason. Busch, who is on the pole for the Food City 500, is a masterful short track racer and his results at Bristol are testament to that fact. In 16 career races at the .53 mile speedway Busch has five wins and 11 top 10 finishes.
Brad Keselowski (+500 to win, +150 top three finish): Keselowski, who is presently second in the points standings and a mere five back from leader Jimmie Johnson, will chase his third top four finish of the season today. The Michigan native seems like a good bet to secure a good result given his history at Bristol. Keselowski only has six career races under his belt at the famed track, but he notched two wins in those six outings. Keselowski will start today’s race from the fourth row (seventh position) next to Tony Stewart.
