Tonight the Wyoming Cowboys will take on the San Diego State Aztecs in the Finals of the Mountain West Conference Tournament which is being played at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas Nevada. The game has a start time of 6:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on CBS. Current Vegas betting odds have the Aztecs listed as 6 point favorites, while the total is set at 109.5. 

Analysis:  The Wyoming Cowboys limped a bit down the stretch of the regular season as they had won just 3 of their final 8 games, but they put that behind them by beating Utah State in the quarterfinals and then top ranked Boise State in OT yesterday. Overall now the Cowboys are 24-8 on the year. Wyoming has gone 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 2-8 ATS the last 10 in the series. The Cowboys have not been a very good offensive team this year, ranking 299th in scoring (62.2 ppg), 51st in shooting (46.4%), 277th in 3 point shooting (32.0%) and 117th in FT shooting (70.6%). Defensively the Cowboys have been excellent this year, ranking 9th in points allowed (56.4 ppg), 64th in defensive FG% (40.3%) and 202nd in 3 point defense (34.5%). 

The San Diego State Aztecs have lost just twice in their last 13 games, with both losses coming to Boise State. Well they won't be facing the Broncos in this one. The Aztecs got to this game with wins over UNLV and Colorado State and they have swept the season series with the Cowboys this year. San Diego State is 26-7 on the year and a lock for the NCAA Tournament, no matter what happens today.  SDSU has gone 5-1-1 in Cowboys last 7 games following a ATS win and 22-6 ATS in their last 28 vs the MWC. The Aztecs have been a poor offensive team this year, ranking 295th in scoring (62.4 ppg), 251st in shooting (42.1%), 266th in 3 point shooting (32.3%) and 342nd in FT shooting (62.5%). Defensively the Aztecs have been excellent this year as they come in ranked 3rd in points allowed (53.4 ppg), 5th in defensive FG% (37.7%) and 15th in 3 point defense (30.0%).    

Pick:   I will go with the Aztecs in this one. San Diego State is playing lock down defense again and they have beaten the Cowboys by 8 and 26 points this year. The Cowboys are a better team with Larry Nance back, but still the Aztecs are the better overall team here and should win this one by at least 8 points.
