The Boise State Broncos welcome in the Colorado State Rams tonight in Mountain West College Basketball. The game is scheduled for an 11:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Broncos favored to get the upset tonight over Colorado State.
Colorado State has marched its way to an 18-2 record on the season, destroying everyone in their path. The Rams' two losses did come recently and were back-to-back on the road to New Mexico and at home against Wyoming. Since then Colorado State has found a way to pick up four straight wins, two each at home and on the road. The rest of the season is filled with winnable games, so the Rams should be able to continue to pile up victories as they head into the conference tournament.
Boise State had won four straight games, all coming in Mountain West play. Prior to that they lost four straight as they dealt with injuries and inconsistent play. Many thought Boise State would finish close to the top of the Mountain West and tonight's game is big for that. Boise sits in the middle of the conference pack at 4-3 while everyone is looking up at Wyoming and their 6-1 mark.
Leading the Broncos is Derrick Marks with his 19.2 points per game. Marks leads the conference in scoring and is connecting on better than 52 percent of his shots, including 52 percent from 3-point land as well. Marks has scored 28, 31, 19 and 28 points in his last four games overall and tonight will look to shoot the Broncos into an upset win.
Boise at home is 7-1 on the year and they have in-season revenge against Colorado State, who beat them by six points on New Year's Eve. Marks scored only eight points in that game, but Mikey Thompson showed up with 20 points to lead the Broncos. John Gillon led Colorado State with 25 points off the bench and the Rams were actually out-rebounded in the game.
Tonight free throws will be big as will rebounding. Boise State is favored to pick up the win and they have revenge in this one, but Colorado State picks up the win.
