Andrew Luck returns for the Colts here tonight after getting through the concussion protocol. The Colts absolutely need him on the field in order to have any chance to win a football game, especially in this instance on the road. The Jets defensive line is pretty strong and that’s not good news for Luck, who has been sacked 35 times already this season behind a patch-work offensive line.
The Jets have talent on offense, but are they really going to get up for this game with a 3-8 record? Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to once again start despite not being the guy the Jets want to go with, but youngsters Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg just don’t seem to be in the plans for the team despite them picking him in the second round.
Fitzpatrick isn’t all that bad in home games, with 26 career touchdowns there, many to Brandon Marshall. The Colts are one of the worst three teams in the league against the pass, giving up better than 290 yards through the air per game. Fitzpatrick needs to find a way to take advantage of this, pushing the ball down the field to as many guys as possible.
The Jets are 3-8, they have nothing to lose. The offense needs to come out and just throw it all over the place, plus get a solid contribution from Matt Forte.
