The New Orleans Saints host the Houston Texans tonight in Monday Night Football action. The game is scheduled for a 7:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The NFL Odds for the contest have the Saints favored to pick up the win at home.
NFL Odds
New Orleans -6.5
Total: 52 points
New Orleans looks like a Super Bowl contender once again this season. Drew Brees might be getting older, but the Saints are going to once again be toward the top of the NFL stat sheets in points scored and offense produced. But New Orleans has to get over the early-season jitters here. The Saints haven't won a season-opener since 2013. In fact, it's been much worse than that.
The Saints are just 1-9 combined in the opening two weeks of the season dating back to 2013. If they're going to be able to get the job done tonight, they'll have to put up some points as Houston's defense is not nearly as strong as it's been in the past, even though JJ Watt is still beating up on offensive lines.
Alvin Kamara scored 18 times last year, so expect him to get the football quite a bit. Deshaun Watson is finally healthy himself for Houston, so the Texans should be able to move the football and score here tonight as well.
