Monday Night Football Cleveland Browns vs Washington Redskins

Johnny Manziel vs. Brian Hoyer: Latest Updates on Cleveland Browns' QB Battle

The Cleveland Browns will take on the Washington Redskins tonight in Monday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff and it will be televised nationally on ESPN.

NFL Preseason Odds

Cleveland Browns
+2½ -105 +125 Ov 42 -110 Ov 20 -110 Un 20 -120
Washington Redskins -2½ -115 -145 Un 42 -110 Ov 21½ -130 Un 21½ +100

The Cleveland Browns dropped their opening game of the preseason to the Detroit Lions, 13-12. Cleveland played pretty well in that game and got decent quarterback play from both Brian Hoyer and Johnny Manziel. Both of them should get quality amount of snaps tonight as they continue to battle it out to see who the starter will be in the opening week of the regular season. Reports say the locker room could be a 50/50 split between the two guys and coach Mike Pettine could be leaning one way or the other.

Washington has its own quarterback problems as well. They drafted and overworked Robert Griffin III during his rookie campaign, causing him to continue to have problems with his legs. He appears to be back at 100 percent, but having a guy like Kirk Cousins behind him automatically causes the rumors to begin. Cousins is a very stable quarterback and completed nine of 13 passes in the opening week for 103 yards and a score.

The preseason games to date have been pretty solid with points being scored, which we expect to continue in this one tonight. Cleveland didn't run the football well against the Lions in their opening game of the preseason. The Redskins, however, dominated their 23-6 win over New England on the ground, running the ball 44 times for 177 yards.

Yet, despite running the ball so well against the Patriots, they didn't find the end zone via rushing. Their two touchdowns were both passing — one from Cousins and one from Colt McCoy.

In tonight's game, we expect the Redskins to get a victory at home. They have better quarterback depth and that's going to be important in this one.
