The MLB season continues this evening with a game between two rivals in the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs on Sunday Night Baseball. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN. Currently the Major League Baseball Odds for the contest have the Cubs favored to pick up the win in this one at home.
MLB Odds
Chicago -140, St. Lous +120
Total: O 8.5 runs (-107), U 8.5 runs (-113)
I am taking the Cubs in this game at home tonight. Chicago can take three out of four from St. Louis with a win here and the offense has been playing better for the most part the last week or so. I expect that to continue here against Cardinals' starter Miles Mikolas (8-8, 4.99). He's surrendered 18 homers so far this season and has had mixed results against the Cubs so far this season.
Mikolas has made three starts against Chicago, the Cardinals have won two of those. His last outing saw the Cubs score four earned runs in just over five innings, belting four homers in the contest. Prior to that, he tossed a couple of starts with six innings and looked solid.
I like Justin Steele (2-5, 3.38) despite his lack of an awesome record. He's almost a strikeout per inning guy and has not faced off against the Cards yet this season. Overall, I like him and the direction the Cubs are heading right now better than St. Louis, so I will back them tonight in this one at home.
