MLB Sunday Chicago White Sox vs. New York Yankees Start Time and Odds

Division leaders New York and Chicago wrap up their four game set in the Bronx today as the Yankees look to earn a series split with the surging White Sox. This afternoon’s Chicago White Sox vs. New York Yankees series finale has a scheduled start time of 2:05pm ET; the game will be broadcast live on TBS. MLB Sunday Odds have the hosting Yankees listed as a -152 moneyline play ($152 to win $100) while Chicago is drawing +142 as a road dog. Today’s game total is set at 10 runs; the Over is favored at -115 odds.

New York cruised into its four game home set with the White Sox having won five straight games, but that did not keep Chicago from taking the opener 4-3 or the second game 14-7.

The Yankees got back on track yesterday, though, blanking the AL Central leader 4-0 behind a tremendous effort from starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda. Kuroda, who improved to 8-7 with the win, held the hard hitting White Sox to three hits over seven innings and he also struck out 11 of the 25 batters he faced.

Five year veteran Phil Hughes will look to duplicate Kuroda’s effort today as he attempts to garner his ninth win of the season. Hughes had a horrible start to the season, but, with the exception of a six hit, six earned run outing against Atlanta (gave up four home runs), his June was incredible. The 26 year old California native went 4-1 last month, allowing just 22 hits and four earned runs (30 1/3 innings) outside of his showing against the Braves.

Hughes, who is 8-6 with a 4.48 ERA this season, is 2-1 with a 0.75 ERA in eight career appearances opposite the White Sox (four starts).

Chicago will look to escape New York with a 3-1 series win by sending right handed hurler Gavin Floyd to the hill. While Floyd is 2-2 with a 5.98 ERA against the Yankees (seven appearances, six starts); he does come into today’s game with some positive momentum. Floyd is 2-0 in his last two starts after allowing nine hits and no earned runs over 13 1/3 innings. He walked just one and struck out 13 in earning wins over the light hitting Cubs and Twins.

Chicago’s wins on Thursday snapped the team's six game losing streak to the Yankees. Prior to this week’s series opener, the White Sox had won just four of their last 14 meetings with the Bronx Bombers.

MLB Sunday Betting Trend: The Under is 10-0 in the White Sox last 10 games as a road dog with a moneyline spread between 140 and 160 and a total between 9.5 and 10 runs.

MLB Sunday Chicago White Sox vs. New York Yankees Odds

Chicago White Sox +1.5 (-145), Over 10 (-115), +142 (Moneyline)

New York Yankees -1.5 (+125), Under 10 (-105), -152 (Moneyline)
