The red hot
San Diego Padres welcome the
Los Angeles Dodgers back to Petco Park tonight for game three of their four game set divisional set. This evening’s clash between the Padres and Dodgers is scheduled for a 7:15pm ET start on FOX.
MLB Saturday Odds have the contest listed as a -105 moneyline pick’em ($105 wins $100) and the Over/Under set at 7.5 runs (Under favored slightly at -115 odds).
San Diego improved to 38-36 last night and ensured at least a series split with the Dodgers as it topped L.A. 5-2 at Petco Park. The Padres, a winner in nine of their last 11 games, tagged Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw for seven hits and four earned runs over six innings in the victory.
San Diego will contend with another Cy Young winner tonight with Zack Greinke taking the mound for the Dodgers. Greinke has struggled, though, since returning from the disabled list, posting a 5.08 ERA and 1.64 WHIP.
In his last outing Greinke yielded eight hits and five earned runs over five innings to the Pirates for his second loss of the season. Greinke is an abysmal 0-2 with a 7.45 ERA in four road starts this year.
The Padres will counter Greinke with their own enigmatic hurler, veteran right hander Edinson Volquez. Volquez brings a 5-5 record, 5.84 ERA, and 1.60 WHIP to the hill this evening. He has performed slightly better at Petco Park where he is 3-3 with a 4.95 ERA.
In his last home start Volquez held the Braves to six hits and one earned run over seven innings, helping the Padres secure a 5-3 victory. Volquez also struck out nine in the impressive showing.
Notable Trends: The Padres are 9-1 in their last 10 home games with a total between 7.5 and 8 runs.
Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (+155), Over 7.5 (-105), -105 (Moneyline)
