MLB Odds Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins will play host to the Detroit Tigers tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for an 8:10 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. The MLB Odds for the game have the Tigers favored to pick up the victory on the road.

MLB Odds
Detroit -126
Total: 7.5 runs

This should be an excellent pitching matchup tonight.

Detroit is sending Justin Verlander to the mound tonight. He’s 1-1 with a 5.71 ERA to date, but he’s had two strong starts against the White Sox and Red Sox, yielding just two earned runs in those starts. The issue for him came against the Cleveland Indians last week, he surrendered nine earned runs in four innings of work.

Current Twins are hitting .228 against him over 184 at bats. Joe Mauer has had the most success with 25 hits in 75 at bats, nobody else on the team has more than four hits against Verlander.

The Twins will send Hector Santiago (1-1, 1.47 ERA) to the mound. He’s a sneaky-good pitcher and has made three good starts this season, all have been quality starts.

Current Tigers are hitting .216 against him over 171 at bats. Miguel Cabrera and James McCann have both homered twice and have had the most success.

Detroit just got swept out of Tampa Bay, but they remain atop the American League Central standings. They have their ace not he mound tonight and he’s looking to bounce back here with another strong start.
