Major League Baseball Odds Free Pick Toronto Blue Jays vs Oakland A's

Saturday baseball and we will see the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Oakland A's in game 3 of their 4 game series from the O.co Coliseum in Oakland, California. First pitch is scheduled for a 10:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on MLB Network.

Current Odds

Toronto      +131
Oakland      -141

Over/ Under: 7.5 U -115

Analysis: The Toronto Blue Jays come having won just 2 of their last 7 games and it has cost them the lead in the AL East, as they are currently a half game behind the Baltimore Orioles. The Blue Jays are a solid offensive team, ranking 5th in the league in scoring (4.59), 8th in hitting (.259) and 1st in homers (113). They have, however, scored just 1 total run in the two games of this series so far. The Pitching for the Jays has been a problem, as they come in ranked 22nd in ERA (3.97) and 25th in WHIP (1.35). Taking the hill for the Jays will be Mark Buehrle, who is 10-5 with a 2.50 ERA on the year overall, while on the road he has gone 5-2 with a 2.11 ERA. Mark is 8-13 with a 3.67 ERA in 31 appearances (27 starts) vs the A's in his career.

The Oakland A's have the best record in baseball, at 53-33 and are currently 4 game a head of the surging LA Angels in the AL West. The A's have also gone a solid 26-15 at home for the year as well. Offensively, the A's are top scoring team in the league, putting up 5 rpg, and they are 5th in homers (91), but they are a very average hitting team overall, ranking 16th in BA (.251). The pitching has been very good for the A's as well, as they rank 2nd in ERA (3.18) and 2nd in WHIP (1.17). Scott Kazmir will get the ball for the A's tonight and he comes in with a 9-3 record and a 2.63 ERA overall, while at home he is 5-1 with a skinny 1.61 ERA. Scott is 4-6 with a 3.60 ERA in 16 career starts vs the Jays.

Pick: I will be going with the Under in this one. The Jays are having problems scoring right now as they have put up just 1 total run in the first two games of this series and they they will be taking on Scott Kazmir, who has a slim 1.61 ERA and an 0.77 WHIP at home for the year. The A's offense is tops in the league, but they have averaged just 3 rpg in their last 5 games and will be facing Mark Buehrle, who has a solid 2.11 ERA on the road. Mark has a 2.40 ERA in his last 5 starts vs the A's, while Scott has a 3.19 ERA in his last 4 starts vs the Jays. Night game in Oakland with two very good pittchers on the mound and struggling hitting at the plate should result in a very low scoring game.
