Mississippi State Bulldogs 2013 BCS National Championship Odds

As Mississippi State prepares for the 2012 season it does so without the heavy and, perhaps, unrealistic expectations it was saddled with last year. Mississippi State Bulldogs 2013 BCS National Championship Odds have the team listed at 80-1 odds to win its first national title. The school is a 22-1 play to win what is considered college football’s strongest conference, and an 8-1 choice to capture what most would call college football’s toughest division, the SEC West.

When Head Coach Dan Mullin returned 16 starters from a 9-4 team that stomped Michigan 52-14 in the Gator Bowl, many felt the Bulldogs might challenge for an SEC West title in 2011. A 2-3 start that featured conference losses to Auburn, LSU, and Georgia effectively ended any talk of a Mississippi State surprise, though.

The Bulldogs are laying a little lower this offseason with just 13 starters back; however, they are still viewed as a capable team which should find seven or more wins from a schedule that includes winnable games against Jackson State, Auburn, Troy, South Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss.

Mississippi State Bulldogs 2012 Schedule: 9/1 Jackson State, 9/8 Auburn, 9/15 at Troy, 9/22 South Alabama, 10/6 at Kentucky, 10/13 Tennessee, 10/20 Middle Tennessee, 10/27 at Alabama, 11/3 Texas A&M, 11/10 at LSU, 11/17 Arkansas, 11/24 at Ole Miss
