Manny Pacquiao returns to the welterweight division this weekend for a showdown with WBO champion Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the latter preparing for jail time, Pacquiao will instead look to extend his current win streak to 16 fights against the always dangerous Bradley. But some believe Pacquiao could be headed for a fall, stealing some of the luster from a potential brawl with Mayweather.

Will Pacquiao flirt with disaster again this weekend? Bradley possesses the skills to give Manny trouble, but he has yet to face a fighter who applies pressure like Pacquiao. Bradley’s defense and stamina, two of his trademarks, will be tested by the Filipino, particularly in the later rounds (if the fight makes it that far). Bradley, who does not possess the hand speed of Pacquiao, will need to be strategic in his combinations, knowing when to retreat and when to hang tough in order to prevent a punishment deficit as the fight wears on. If he can do that, he stands a decent chance at pulling off the upset. A Bradley win would probably say more about Pacquiao, though. At some point every fighter begins to slip; a Bradley victory would provide proof that Manny has, indeed, lost something.
