The Major League Baseball season continues today with a contest between the host Boston Red Sox and the visiting Texas Rangers. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the matchup have the Red Sox listed as the favorites to pick up the win in this one at home.

I am backing the Red Sox here tonight in this contest at home. Boston is limping into this contest having lost four in a row and just getting swept by the visiting Houston Astros. The Red Sox have *not* been a great team at home this season (27-31) but I like them to get things figured out here tonight against the Rangers.
Texas is a struggling team on the road (24-36) and they just don't seem to have things figured out this season. The Red Sox are still battling for a playoff spot, sitting at just three games out of the Wild Card in the American League.
Despite their recent struggles, I think Boston is the right play here. I like backing Brayan Bello (10-5, 5.16) despite his propensity to give up the homer. He's allowed 18 in just over 111 innings to date this year, obviously he's going to have to keep Texas in the ballpark tonight.
